Due to industrial action taken by Royal Mail, postal orders are being delayed up to two weeks, by our estimate. As of this post, more strikes are forecast. We urge anyone hoping to get their orders in before Xmas to come to the stall if they can, or accept that it may turn up after Xmas. If your order is a gift for someone, you can still place one and leave a note at checkout for stall collection. It will then be ready for you to collect at your leisure.
Sorry for any inconvenience, Frances and Sam Birchley's Loose Leaf Tea
Dinosaurs are coming to Norwich from Monday 12th July - Sunday 22nd August and to celebrate Norwich BID is having a dino themed food trail. Inspired by the arrival of Break's GoGoDiscover T.rex, and Dippy on tour at Norwich Cathedral, this summer. We at Birchley's have joined in and created our own exclusive dinosaur tea 'Tea-REX'! (Well, it wasn't going to be called anything else. We love tea puns here!)
Our cleaver girl 'Rexy' has spared no expense in making a delicious herbal, lemongrass, rosehip and ginger blend with candy dinosaurs. Rexy was so preoccupied with whether or not she could, she didn't stop to think if she should, but life finds a way and she didn't disappoint. So, hold onto your butts as the warming ginger and sweet citrusy flavours calms you down from your run in with Rexy. For a limited time you can get your hands on this herbal blend only in store from the 12th July - 22nd August. Pop on in to sample Rexy's creation. You can find more information on the food trail here: www.visitnorwich.co.uk/city-food-trail #CityFoodTrail 'City Food Trail is a Norwich Business Improvement District (BID) project' Due to our colleague having to self-isolate, the stall will be closed 15th - 19th of Feb until he can return on the 22nd. We will still be open on Saturdays and continue to fulfill online orders.
Sorry for any inconvenience. Birchley's Loose Leaf Tea With the end of lockdown 2, we are open with our usual operating times once again. Monday 10-4pm, Tuesday - Saturday 9-4:30pm. We are geared up and ready to go for Christmas so come get your tea, or order it online.
We are here again! But we are prepared. Birchley's is Covid secure. As of Thursday 5th November, we will be operating at reduced opening hours. These will be 10am - 2pm Monday - Saturday. If you go out for your one food shop in Norwich Market, you can by tea from us still. Or if you live out of the way, order online.
Our online shop is still operating as normal. Orders will be posted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. As we found during the first lockdown, the postal service took longer to deliver some packages, up to two weeks on one occasion. Please give your orders a bit of extra time to get to you if this appears to be the case. Otherwise, get in touch with us via email, Google or Facebook. Christmas items will be added to the website as and when they are delivered to us. Special Xmas teas will appear mid November instore and online. We currently still have some Halloween and Pumpkin Pie tea available. If you would like a large order of gifts put together for Christmas please allow extra wiggle room for it to be assembled and posted. It takes us a little time to make each gift box from scratch. As before, stay safe, and don't worry. We have tea for days! Frances and Sam Birchley's Loose Leaf Tea It's been a long time coming, but we at Birchley's will be opening our shop on Norwich Market again Saturday 6th June. We'll be open from 10am - 2pm to test the waters and hope to get back to full capacity in the future. Many grateful thanks to all our loyal customers who have kept us going by buying online. It is much appreciated.
There will be some changes if you do decide to venture out. A screen has been erected to protect us and limit the number of people who touch stock. We can demonstrate some of the tea accessories on request. Hand sanitiser will be available. We would ask that everyone keep to social distancing rules while shopping with us. Anyone flouting those rules or acting in an unsafe manner will be asked politely to leave. Card payments are preferred but we will take cash if that is your only option. We look forward to seeing all of you soon. Thank you for your patience in this difficult time. Frances and Sam, Birchley's Loose Leaf Tea During this difficult time we have taken the decision to operate online only as of today. Our shop will be shut for the foreseeable future until the government deems it safe to do so. Our online shop will be running however, so you can still get our delicious teas! We will only be processing orders on a Monday and Thursday so please be patient. Once the threat of Covid-19 has passed, we will be happy to open again as normal. See our facebook page for more regular updates. We urge all of our customers to stay safe and stay at home. This isn't goodbye, just TEA you later. Thank you to all our customers and those who have helped us along the way.
Stay safe, Frances and Sam, Birchley's Loose Leaf Tea Due to Covid-19 concerns, Birchley's Tea would like to assure our customers that we take this matter very seriously. We already take precautions when it comes to public and personal hygiene, as such we are following government advice on what extra we can do. You as our customers are very important to us, without you, there would be no us! So if you can't get into the Market because you've been advised not to, don't worry, we're still able to take orders online and post them to you. As such, we've dropped our minimum order value for free postage to £15.
In regards to our stocks of tea, information from our suppliers is that they are robust and shipments are still coming in from tea plantations. There is no need to stockpile tea (although that is totally the British thing to do!) Our business is very small and we would love to keep selling you our tea now and forever. So please, if you have questions regarding our business during this difficult time, send us an email and we'll do our best to answer you. |
