Japanese Matcha 30g
Description
Authentic Japanese Matcha, all the way from Uji Japan no less! Grown differently from traditional green teas, the plant is matured under shade for several weeks before the harvesting season to produce more theanine, caffeine and to makea deeper green colour. Once it has been dried the stems and veins are removed to maintain its delicate flavour. Finally the leaves are ground, which is a slow process and can take up to an hour just to make 30g, and the matcha is complete.
Traditionally matcha is a ceremonial beverage to be had at special occasions, but don't let that stop you. This unique green tea has a deep and slightly bitter flavour, that is best had after eating a sweet treat. Below is a few instructions that you'll get when you purchase a 30g bag of our matcha.
Instructions
Matcha is green tea ground into a powder, so when you drink it, you take in all of its goodness. For this reason, Matcha needs special preparation.
For one cup
Sift half a teaspoon of Matcha into a cup or bowl.
Add enough water, just short of boiling (80C), and whisk vigorously in a ‘W’ or ‘M’ direction until frothy.
Top up with more hot water, or hot milk for a Matcha Latte, and enjoy with or without sugar.
Alternatively, if you don’t have a whisk, you can impact a small amount of Matcha and cold water in a bottle vigorously, and top up with hot water or milk. Then sit back and enjoy your authentic Japanese drink with a nice sweet treat.
Consume within 6 months and keep in an air tight container in the fridge to prolong its flavour.
