Gunpowder Green Tea
Grown in Zhejiang, China, this green tea is perfectly named for its appearance to gunpowder pellets. It's rolled into balls to protect the tea from moisture and oxygen when transported. It is robust, very slightly tobacco-like and flinty in taste. Gunpowder is a popularly exported tea to West Africa to mix with mint to make Attaya, a very sugary drink. We like watching the balls of tea unfurl in hot water as it steeps.
