Malawi Chipperoni Mists
Description
The Kay family, who originate from Scotland, set up the Satemwa Tea Estate in the Shire Highlands of Malawi back in the 1920's. They are passionate about producing high quality premium teas whilst working to improve the living standards and well-being of their employees and the local community. Their enthusiasm for tea has enabled them to branch out into more unique varieties, including White, Green and Oolong teas, whereas generally Malawi is known for commercial black tea production.
During the winter months in the Satemwa Tea Estate, the Camellia Sinensis plant undergoes stresses of drought up in the highlands. The cold, damp Chipperoni mists from neighbouring Mozambique that drift in bring out the aromatic, woody sappy liquor of this exceptional tea for which we have named it. As a Southern hemisphere interpretation of a Himalayan tea, it is remarkably similar to a first flush Darjeeling. Long, dark and wirery in appearence, it is one of our largest leafed teas. It is best drunk without milk as the flavours are not suited. Contains caffiene.
